You must be a member to book court time at Carderock for private play.

Tennis under the lights is available on courts 1 and 2. All play must be completed by 11PM.

All court time must be reserved through the following link.

PAYMENT ENVELOPES ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BULLETIN BOARD OUTSIDE THE TENNIS OFFICE AND CAN BE DEPOSITED THRU THE MAIL SLOT OF THE TENNIS OFFICE OR THE WINDOW TO THE LEFT OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE.

JUNIORS SPRING 2018 (Adult Programs Below)

Elite (HS TEAM/USTA Tournament Players):

The Elite clinic is designed for the high school team player and players with USTA sectional rankings. This will be an intense clinic which includes a warm-up, live ball drilling, match play, and intense fitness. Through the years, this clinic has led to numerous juniors becoming highly ranked both sectionally and nationally. Clinic is open to all. Please email Nitin before enrollment.

Spring Program 2018: Apr 3-June 9th  (10 weeks, Make-ups for inclement weather must be done during session).

Tournament Training (USTA League Level): 

This clinic is designed for advanced Junior Team players and USTA team tennis players. Each clinic will include a warm-up, specialized drilling, some match play, and fitness. Clinic is designed for a player who wants to become more serious about tennis and begin playing USTA tournaments. Clinic is open to all.  Parents must email Nitin before enrollment.

Players on the Rise (Regular Ball) (Intermediate Clinic):

Perfect clinic for junior players who have been on the Junior Team or whose goal is to be on the Carderock Junior Team. Each clinic will include a short warm-up, drills (fed-ball), some match play, and fitness. This program will help develop a more consistent player through repetition and specialized instruction. Clinic is open to all.

Orange Ball 60Ft Court (Up and Comers) (Low-Int Ages 7-9):

Clinic is designed to develop proper technique as well as the understanding of the game of tennis. Clinic will include an abbreviated warm-up, stroke specific drilling, and games. Through the program students will gain a solid base for future development as well as an understanding for how to keep score and play matches. Clinic is open to all.

Red Ball 36Ft Court (Tiny Tots) (Kids ages 4-6):

Clinic designed to develop motor skills and cognitive learning. Focus will be on hand-eye coordination, basic stroke technique, and enhancing each child’s interest in the game of tennis. This is the perfect program for a young beginner to start the game of tennis and create an interest that will last a lifetime.  Clinic is open to all.

Please make all payments via Pay Pal or checks payable to Bethesda Tennis Academy. Payment is due prior to or at time of service. All make-ups for inclement weather can be done by attending another day’s class. No make-up classes allowed after session is complete. Please call 301-365-1541 as that is our information line and source of relaying any cancellations etc. If signed up for full session there is a make-up week to attend class that may have been missed.

PLAYING TEST TO ADVANCE TO NEXT LEVEL.

(Red 36ft): If child is 6 years old or less and wants to move into the Up and Comer program, then he/she must demonstrate the following….

 

  1. Name the lines on the court.
  2. Show all strokes when asked.
  3. Rally 10 balls every stroke (5 tries).
  4. Rally 10 balls random (5 tries).
  5. All must be done on a consistent basis.
  6. Final approval is at the tennis professionals discretion.

Up and Comers (Orange 60ft): If child is 8 years old or less and wants to move into the POR Green Dot group, then he/she must demonstrate the following….  

  1. Name lines on a court.
  2. Understand scoring system.
  3. Show all strokes when asked w proper grips.
  4. Rally 20 balls (baseline and volleys).
  5. Make 10/20 serves all w proper technique.
  6. All must be done on a consistent basis.
  7. Final approval is made by the testing tennis professional.

POR Green Dot and Regular: If child wants to move into Tournament Training, regardless of age, they must demonstrate the following….

  1. Show all strokes when asked w proper grips.
  2. Rally 20 balls w reg balls (baseline and volleys) w proper technique and grip.
  3. Make 10/20 serves all w proper technique and grip.
  4. Demonstrate basic understanding of court positioning.
  5. Demonstrate basic understanding of shot selection process.
  6. Ability to keep and understand scoring.
  7. Ability to play sets.
  8. All must be done on a consistent basis.
  9. Final approval is made by Nitin Deodhar or Emre Baris.

Tournament Training: If child wants to move into Elite, regardless of age, they must demonstrate the following….

  1. All strokes with proper grip and technique.
  2. Ability to keep a rally for 30 plus shots (6 out of 10 times) on a regular basis (using proper technique and different spins).
  3. Make 10/10 second serve with proper spin. (10 tries).
  4. Able to play sets competing with HS Team and USTA Tournament players.
  5. Show understanding of detailed strategy (Coach will ask questions to be answered by student).
  6. Have solid footwork, intensity.
  7. Understanding of positioning on the court and shot selection.
  8. Testing will be done by Nitin Deodhar.

Ladies C Team Practice 2.5-3.0 (Open to members and non-members):

Clinic is open to players from all clubs. Team practice will include live ball drills, doubles strategy, and overall play to help improve performance in matches. Each practice will include a 15 minute doubles pattern warm-up, 45 minutes specialized live ball and fed ball drilling, and 30 minutes match play.

Spring 2018: Apr 5- May 24 (8 weeks)

Advanced Adult Clinic:

A specially designed clinic to get your heart pumping while learning the game we all love.  Each week your instructor will have 3-4 drills prepared to enable your game to improve while getting the workout you want!  Each drill will be played for 20-25 minutes non-stop.  Instructor will quickly feed the ball in play after each point in concluded.

Cardio Tennis:

Get your workout in for the day while playing the game you love. Clinic will be fast paced and fun. Each clinic will include a series of drills designed to get your heart pumping, while improving your tennis game at the same time!

Adult Beginner Clinic (2.0-2.5 co-ed):

Clinic is designed for all adult beginner tennis players, or those who need a refresher. This program will teach the basics of tennis, focus of the technical aspects, and teach some basic strategies of the game. The stroke production clinic is an excellent way to learn the game properly.

3 and a Pro:

A group lesson set up by group with one of our instructors. Duration can be from one hour to two hours depending on members preference.
