The Carderock Springs Swimming Club is an anchor of the Carderock Community providing a family oriented center of activity for people of all ages. The Club has a wide range of activities including tennis, swimming, basketball, a toddler playground, movie nights in the winter, exercise classes, a summer fun program, and community activities throughout the year. The Clubhouse may be rented for special events, birthday parties for children or adults, anniversaries, and team get-togethers. The club is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood, tucked back into a wooded hill at the end of a cul de sac. CSSC is one of the most beautiful Clubs around!
Pool Facility
The Club has 3 pools:
- The large pool is a full size, competition ready pool with dedicated lap lanes and open play areas. A 12 ft deep diving well is part of the largest pool.
- A middle pool is 2ft deep on one side and 3 1/2ft deep on the other. This pool is great for toddlers and small children learning to swim.
- The baby pool is fenced off from the others and includes baby toys and small picnic tables. Infants and toddlers in waterproof swim diapers may use the middle and baby pools.

Middle Pool Grills/Picnic Area
We have a snack bar serving hot foods, drinks, ice cream and snacks. Behind the pool area is a large grassy area filled with picnic tables and grills. Members may grill at any time. On Friday nights many members bring picnic suppers.
The Cuda’s swim and dive teams include boys and girls ages 7 and up. A pre-team for younger swimmers helps prepare children for the swim team. The swim team atmosphere is exciting and supportive complete with Friday evening pizza parties, Saturday morning home meets with post meet barbeques.
Swimming Instruction is offered by many of our lifeguards and team coaches.
Tennis
CSSC has a full tennis program consisting of clinics, private and group lessons, team activities and special events. There are currently 3 women’s teams participating in the area league both spring and fall, a junior tennis team during the summer. Throughout the year, members are invited to attend various tennis round robins, mixed doubles events, men’s doubles events and other fun tennis mixers including parent/child events. CSSC has 5 courts and employs a tennis pro. Group and individual classes are offered for anyone 4 years or older. Lights are available for night play on two courts.
Clubhouse
The clubhouse’s award winning design features walls of windows looking out into the surrounding woods. Men’s and women’s locker rooms are located at ground level, with a large open room on the second level, exiting to the pool deck. The Clubhouse has enough room to host a party with a band, dancing and tables and high speed wireless internet connection. We do not yet have wheelchair access to the upper clubhouse and pool levels.

Best kept secret: The men's locker room has a baby changing station in it....hey, half of the population may not have known this since they are not in the other half's locker room!

Seasonal Activities
In addition to the Saturday night barbecues, the club hosts parties on Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day, an egg hunt in the Spring, a fall festival in October, and a winter holiday party for children in December. These events are open to all community members regardless of membership. Other activities open to all often include movie nights during the winter.
Summer Fun is a 5-hour/day-summer program held at the club. Each one-week session includes tennis, swimming, crafts and games designed to build team building skills. Summer Fun is open to children ages 6 thru 10. Enrollment forms are sent out in the Club newsletter each spring. Teenagers in the community serve as counselors where they can earn community service credit.
Classes
Independent instructors offer classes at the club throughout the year, including yoga and aerobics. Class fees are paid directly to the instructor. Classes are open to all, regardless of membership.
