ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Swim Team:  Swimteam members must be able to swim a 25-meter lap of the pool in less than 60seconds without touching the bottom or lane ropes.  Children under 8 will have to swim one lap of the pool on the first day of practice.

Pre-Team:  Pre-team swimmers are able to swim freestyle but are not strong enough to swim 25 meters in under 60 seconds.  Typical age range is 5 to 7 years old and may include some 8 year olds.  Pre-team    provides that “critical stepping stone” for children to eventually move onto the Cuda Swim Team by strengthening all their swimming skills.  Pre-team is not designed to take the place of swimming lessons; supplementing with swimming lessons will more rapidly improve a beginning swimmer’s skills.  It is recommended to have a caregiver near the pool during practice.

Mini Cudas: The mini-cudas are the youngest swimmers, learning to blow bubbles, float, begin stroke technique, etc.  The age range for this program is older 3s, 4s and 5s.  A parent or caregiver must be on the pool deck at all times during the mini-cuda lessons.

Dive Team:  For children and young adults from 5-18 years old.  No prior diving experience necessary.
